Joey Goertz > Baguette anyone?
Joey Goertz > Another road shot, but this time at night. Kinda wish that I left the shutter open for a bit longer so that the stars would be a bit more visible. Perhaps you can tell by this scene that It was a very cold looking night, hence my eagerness for the photo to finish.

Joey Goertz > We're finally getting some snow!!! I love that these mountains are just down the road from my house.
Joey Goertz > 10th and 11th graders from Shimizu High's Karate club VS Obihiros Agricultural High School. Very cool to watch a real karate match in the country that invented the sport.

Joey Goertz > A day spent in Otaru, Hokkaido. This port city has some of the best, and most interesting sushi I've had so far.
Joey Goertz > One last autumn shot before the snow inevitably shows up.
Joey Goertz > The night before Halloween, eight of us friends got together to carve up some pumpkins. What I love is how unique everyones jack o' lantern turned out. After everyone took their pictures of there pumpkins, we put them around the living room and talked into the night.

Joey Goertz > Getting Ready for Halloween

Despite the numerous festivals and celebrations that take place in Japan, Halloween unfortunately is not one of them. Last week, I bought a nice little orange pumpkin and had my friends Yuriko and Hitoshi to join me in carving it into a Jack-o’-lantern. This was Yuriko’s first time, so it was really great seeing her expression when we put the candle in the newly carved pumpkin. After that, we took the seeds from the pumpkin, fried them up, and ate them around the glowing Jack-o’-lantern.
Joey Goertz > Abstract metal hand coming out of the streets of Obihiro.
Joey Goertz > I wish I had gotten this one a bit sharper. To get this photo, I had my camera hanging off a tree, and using my remote, triggered the shutter. It was pretty windy, so that’s my excuse for this one not being tack sharp.
Joey Goertz > Hokkaido is now experiencing its seasonal change into Autumn. I have to say that Japanese maples have to be some of the most beautiful trees in the world, especially in Autumn.
